Predatory publishing involves pay for play journals and conferences that are solely in existence to make a profit. They contain questionable peer review practices, often faulty science and prey on those desperate to publish. In this class, we will go over some simple tools to figure out if a publisher/journal/conference is predatory, learn the difference between Open Access journals and predatory ones, and briefly go over Cabell's blacklist.
